It all began when founder, Chantel, was looking for a rug for her grandson’s bedroom. She searched all over west Wales with no luck: not one exclusive rug shop and very few rugs in shops. She found herself considering buying one online but thought no; this is the sort of thing I need to see in person before I buy. That, and the fact that she values knowing exactly where things come from, was the genesis of Warp and Weft: a desire to set up a real-life, browsable shop filled with beautiful, ethically produced rugs, where styles and materials reflect local landscapes.
